The American fashion industry gathered in New York last night for the 9th Annual CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund gala dinner. Greg Chait, founder of cashmere label The Elder Statesman, won the coveted cash prize and mentorship program, while jewelry designer Jennifer Meyer Maguire and footwear designer Tabitha Simmons were named the runners-up.
The other story, of course, was what gala attendees wore, and we’ve gone ahead and picked our five best dressed of the evening. Red carpet favourite Emma Stone was an easy pick; the actress was decked out in a peplum look straight off the Burberry Prorsum Spring 2013 runway. Dakota Fanning, in pink Jason Wu Spring 2013, also chose a peplum for the occasion. Rounding out the top five were Coco Rocha in a printed Sono number, Karlie Kloss in a sheer, ladylike ensemble, and Alexa Chung in an unexpected pairing of baby blue and red.

News of the CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund collaborations with J.Crew is now coming fast and furious! Yesterday we got a sneak peek of the capsules designed by Joseph Altuzarra, Pamela Love and Creatures of the Wind, and today images of the complete 7-piece collection by Altuzarra have been released.
The designs, inspired by “Brigitte Bardot in Saint-Tropez and French preppy style,” range in price from $85 for a cotton top to $345 for the espadrilles. The collection isn’t what I expected from Altuzarra, but I’m never one to turn down anything nautical, sartorially speaking. I’m all over the gingham and Breton stripes. And those espadrilles! Too cute for words.
Altuzarra for J.Crew is available for pre-sale starting tomorrow, April 19, and lands in stores on April 23. Happy shopping!

When winner Prabal Gurung confirmed a few weeks ago that he’d collaborated with J.Crew on the second round of CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund collections, we started to get excited. Today, Vogue.com brings us our very first look at the capsule, as well as those of runners-up Pamela Love and Creatures of the Wind, and now we’re getting really excited.
Altuzarra’s Parisian-inspired nautical sweaters, pencil skirts, and espadrilles hit stores on April 23, while we’ll have to wait until May 14 and June 11 for Pamela Love’s boyfriend jeans, belt, and shrunken jacket (clothing from the jewelry designer!) and Creatures of the Wind’s twinset, floral summer dress, and patchwork oxfords. Anxious about missing out? You can pre-order by phone starting this Thursday, April 19.
The images are rather small, but are you liking what you’re seeing so far?

Kate Moss, in Spring 2012 haute couture, styled by Grace Coddington and photographed by Tim Walker with the Ritz Paris as the breathtaking backdrop. It doesn’t get much better than this.
I have a sudden urge to (a) travel to Paris, (b) stay at the Ritz and (c) go on a Chanel shopping spree. So, how do we make this happen?

Adele has returned in a big way. Six Grammy Awards and a cover and spread in Vogue’s March 2012 issue? None too shabby for a 23-year old, albeit an incredibly talented one. She looks absolutely stunning in her Vogue editorial.
T and her friend D, who were practically hyperventilating during the singer’s Grammys performance last night, are Adele’s #1 fans. This post is for them!

I was catching up on my magazine reading over the weekend when I spotted this photo of actress Michelle Monaghan in a black and white contrast peplum blouse that I knew immediately I had to have. I’m a self-confessed ruffle addict, so it should come as no surprise that I also adore everything peplum.
Imagine my delight when I realized that the top was part of Vogue’s ‘Steal of the Month’ feature for January. Rather than the hundreds of dollars I expected it would cost, the price tag is a mere $50, thanks to trusty fast fashion retailer H&M. The only challenge that remains is getting my hands on one. I’ll be stalking my local H&M until I do!

Emma Watson will always be Hermione Granger to me: “Now if you two don’t mind, I’m going to bed before either of you come up with another clever idea to get us all killed. Or worse, expelled.” But she sure is growing up fast, isn’t she? Granger is all dolled up in the July 2011 issue of Vogue, and looking the part too.

Rihanna looks absolutely stunning as a ginger-haired mermaid on the cover of Vogue US‘s April 2011 Shape Issue – who knew she had it in her? Apparently Anna Wintour did. This cover blows Emmanuelle and Giselle’s Vogue Paris cover out of the water, n’est-ce pas?

The December 2010 issue of Vogue includes an editorial that features the first full-length photos of some of the looks from Tom Ford’s highly-anticipated Spring 2011 womenswear collection – the inaugural womenswear collection for his eponymous line and his first foray into womenswear in 6 years. Back in September, Ford held a very exclusive presentation, but banned photos, so all the public at large has seen of the collection until now has been these headshots.
We all missed Ford terribly during his absence and were envious of his menswear designs, and now we’re reminded of precisely why. The pieces featured in the Vogue editorial are every bit as fabulous as I’d imagined they would be…and then some. Definitely worth the wait!
More photos after the jump…
