Aliya Akhmedeeva of Click To See More, Montreal
It seems we had a bit of a false start to summer. It’s been wet and cold in Toronto, so the shorts and leg-baring frocks we saw over the past few weeks were temporarily abandoned. The sartorial solution? Long, flowing dresses of the sort Aliya donned this week. Hers was a colourful floral print in a lovely silhouette that made for a rather dreamy style shot.
Anik sported an embroidered white frock with a boxy shape that can be tough to pull off, but she totally rocked it with a black leather moto jacket, one of our favourite summer evening pairings. Lolitta found a creative way to battle the cold. She styled her asymmetrical dress-slash-top with pants for a rather fierce take on the black and white trend.
It’s been tricky weather to dress for, but our favourite style bloggers appear to be completely unfazed by Mother Nature’s shenanigans.

Julia Monson of Julia Monson, Toronto
Last week on the Lookbook, it was all abouts shorts, shorts, shorts. This week? Summery frocks and bare gams.
Julia served up a look that was part angel, part surfer girl, donning a blue abstract print dress and matching floral headband. Cara‘s ensemble was just as eye-catching, with her palm tree print number and fierce lace-up sandals.
Gracie sported what she termed a “psychadelic” gemstone print dress under a leather biker jacket – obviously a year-round necessity. Bianca couldn’t resist a touch of leather too; she decided to go sweet this week, with an off-the-shoulder rose-print frock and an unexpected leather ball cap. Nice touch.

Shorts season is officially here! It looks like style bloggers across the country have stored away their leather leggings for the season and finally taken their shorts out to play. We’re especially loving the shorts + outerwear looks we spotted on the Canadian style blogs this week.
Aliya wore her cute denim cut-offs under a classic beige trench, while Anik paired her chic black shorts with a smart camel coloured blazer. Vanessa went for an all black leather look, sporting her faux leather shorts with the coolest faux leather vest ever and a matching leather cap to boot. Black leather never looked so summer perfect.

Chris Nicholas for Lookbook.nu, Newfoundland
Bare legs, exposed midriffs, open-toe shoes…it must be summer! Not officially, but patio season has definitely begun, and so has style blogging season. Only the very brave venture out into the Canadian cold for personal style shoots, so with the arrival of friendlier temperatures also comes a bevy of fresh faces on the Canadian street style scene. If not new, at least re-emerging from winter hibernation finally.
We’re rather excited to be featuring our first style-blogging Newfoundlander! Chris looks very dapper in blue gingam and a matching cobalt skinny tie, but it was his anchor-print socks that really stole our hearts. Sandy, another newcomer to the Lookbook this week, is also making quite the first impression with her head-to-toe paisley look and über cool handcuff clutch.
Many more style bloggers are sure to come out of the woodwork in the coming summer months, and we can’t wait to introduce them to you!

This week’s Lookbook is an unintentional ‘who wore it best?’ moment. A certain Zara fold over skort has become a favourite among Canadian style bloggers, and we’re loving all the different ways it’s being styled.
Ivy wore her white skort with a sculptural jacket and oversized printed tee for a futuristic vibe, while Joandy paired hers with floral, vintage Versace for a summery feel. Lisa went for a sportier look with her black skort, donning a chic blazer, dapper loafers and a cute panama hat for good measure.
So who wore it best? They’re all so good – it’s just impossible to choose just one.

We’ve been spotting metallic bags everywhere lately, and it’s not surprising given that they complement the current black and white trend so perfectly. Case in point: Bianca‘s fun black leather shortalls (want!) and silver candy wrapper clutch (adore!) combo.
Not to say that metallic accessories don’t go just as well with other colours. We love how Lisa paired a romantic palette of soft pink and white with a lovely rose gold clutch. Perfect for spring!

Just when we thought we had the aesthetics of our favourite Canadian style bloggers all figured out, one of them trotted out a delightfully unexpected get-up.
Ania, who regularly serves up one fierce look after another, has a penchant for dark colours and leather, and whom we’ve never seen crack a smile on her blog, blew us away this week with one of the cutest personal style posts we’ve featured to date. In it, she’s grinning from ear to ear, wearing a watermelon sweater and floral print cap, and carrying a skateboard she adorably confesses to not knowing how to ride. Cute overload? Not a chance. In fact, now that we’ve seen this side of Ania, we’re hoping she’ll come out to play more often.
How about you, dear readers – new season, fresh look?

Vanessa Cesario of The Brunette Salad, Toronto
The weather is slowly but surely getting warmer, which means the time is ripe for showing some leg.
Donning oversized retro sunglasses, a fedora, and an embroidered jacket with leather sleeves, Lisa would fit right in at Coachella. Alyssa layered a neat black shirt with a Kenzo-esque tiger over a white skirt with sheer panels, while Vanessa paired a paneled three-quarter length skirt with a vintage bomber jacket and some seriously enviable abs.

Proclamations abound that black and white is the trend of the season. The great thing about limiting one’s sartorial choices to opposite ends of the colour spectrum is that it’s hard not to come up with a decent outfit. When paired together, black and white can be ultra chic and classic or avant-garde.
Take Alyssa, for instance. I love her look from head to toe, but it’s the bold black sock and white platform sandal combo that really stands out. Kristin looked striking this week in a floor-length, pleated black skirt paired with a fierce white motorcycle jacket.
Despite being heralded as a spring trend, black and white are a pair that won’t be going away anytime soon.

Caillianne Beckerman of Beckerman Bite Plate, Toronto
Head to toe coordination is always risky business – the results can either be a stroke of sartorial genius or a complete, tacky flop. This week, Canadian style bloggers really committed, and took their looks to the next level.
Caillianne had us seeing red: from her herringbone coat to her tie-dye jeans to her printed tote – not to mention those signature scarlet lips – the lady in red never looked so fierce. Neither did her dog, Cubby.
Kassandra‘s outfit this week was an ode to floral denim. She upped the chic factor of her printed jeans and matching button-down with a fitted navy blazer and gold accessories. Kudos on a styling job well done.
Too much of a good thing? Never. Especially when there’s a patterned Canadian tuxedo involved.
