The Mister and I caught Skyfall today and have been dissecting and analyzing the film nonstop ever since. In fact, he made a special request that I blog about the fashion in this latest film in the James Bond series, so I am – not that I needed much encouragement. While Daniel Craig (in a Tom Ford tuxedo or, erm, shirtless) was quite easy on the eyes, Bérénice Marlohe, as Bond girl Severine, graced the silver screen in the most stunning look of the movie.
Skyfall costume designer Jany Temime took 6 months to create the black gown Severine is wearing when she and Bond first meet. Over 60,000 Swarovski Elements crystals were sewn into the mesh panels of the gorgeous tattoo-detailed dress by hand. Severine’s accompanying two-tone nail design was developed by Temime with makeup artist Naomi Donne and OPI, and features a deep burgandy colour aptly named ‘Skyfall’ on top and gold on the inside.
The resulting look is dark, sexy, and nothing short of fabulous. In other words, perfectly suited to a Bond lady.
