Because I like to torture myself, I spent yesterday daydreaming about a $4,000 Burberry peplum trench coat. Today, my fickle heart has already found a new piece of sartorial genius to covet: Chanel camellia sneakers!
These black and white leather kicks from Chanel’s Resort 2013 collection are embellished with the brand’s double-C logo and signature camellias, which I adore. No word yet on the price tag, but I bet these shoes would match perfectly with the fun Chanel croquet set and bicycle I sadly also can’t afford.

News of freshly-hatched collaborations arrive in my inbox weekly it seems, but I have never been as excited as I am for the one announced today: Charlotte Olympia x Olympia Le-Tan. Charlotte Olympia is my favourite shoe designer right now, hands down. Olympia Le-Tan currently has no presence in my closet, but I’ve been waiting patiently for the book clutch designer to choose a book cover that would have special meaning to me. It took teaming up with Charlotte Dellal, but it’s finally happened.
The two designers have created a limited edition mini collection inspired by my most beloved childhood book and one that I’ve been reading to my son of late, E. B. White’s Charlotte’s Web. In addition to an embroidered book clutch, Charlotte Olympia’s signature ‘Dolly’ shoe has been produced with Charlotte’s Web-themed inscriptions like ‘Terrific’ and ‘Radiant’ and dubbed the ‘Miracle Dolly’. My 6-year old self is overjoyed and, quite frankly, so is the slightly older present-day version.
The designs will be sold exclusively at the Charlotte Olympia boutiques in New York and London on Fashion’s Night Out on September 6, with 10% of the proceeds being donated to FNO’s official charity, Refuge. I won’t be anywhere near either of those cities, but I will find a way to get my hands on my very own Charlotte’s Web book clutch if it’s the last thing I do!

Liz Cabral at the launch of the first FLARE x ALDO collaboration
FLARE Magazine Fashion Director Liz Cabral made a rather unexpected and epic announcement via Twitter last night: there’s going to be a round #2 to her collaboration with ALDO Shoes!

This tweet literally made me squeal because (a) I’m a shoeaholic and (b) I expect a shoe designed by Liz Cabral and ALDO to be nothing short of genius, based on the results of their first joint effort. The FLARE x ALDO wedges released in April 2011 were an instant hit (see the evidence here, here and here), and are officially the most complimented pair of shoes I own.
The second FLARE x ALDO collaboration will be revealed in September and available in stores and online in October. Liz has hinted that the collaboration involves more than a shoe. What do FLARE, Liz and ALDO have up their proverbial sleeves this time around? I can’t wait to find out!

It’s been 48 days since the last time I posted about a pair of Charlotte Olympia shoes I’m coveting. Though that may seem like plenty long ago, the to-die-for designs from Charlotte Dellal’s Fall 2012 and Cruise 2013 collections could probably have filled half of our editorial calendar for the last 48 days.
There are quite a few pairs that I would be more than happy (read: ecstatic!) to welcome to my burgeoning CO stash, including this stunning platform sandal for Resort. With its dainty flower embellishments and bamboo platform and heel, this exquisite shoe is more pretty and less cheeky than some of the other Charlotte Olympia creations I’ve had on my wish list to date.
Though I love a good fruit-themed shoe (who doesn’t?), I’m liking this other side of Dellal’s aesthetic just as much. More of this please!

Converse previews are always delightfully torturous experiences. Delightful because, well, who wouldn’t want to see the classic Chuck Taylors in their new range of colours or the latest and greatest collaborations hitting stores next season? Torturous, though, on account of the fact that the styles I end up coveting most are always from the men’s line and not produced in my size, which I already whined about in my Spring 2012 post. Yesterday’s Fall 2012 preview was no less delightful…or torturous.
As usual, the designs by John Varvatos were at the top of my list, with the black leather pair with removable high-tops at the very, very top. I’ll be buying the Mister a pair so I can live vicariously through him. A close second was the DC Comics collaboration that I just can’t seem to get enough of, even with this pair already in my superhero arsenal. One can never own too many Superman Cons, after all. In the third spot was the pair of hot pink high-tops I scored on my way out of the preview, which are sure to be a weekend favourite this summer.

Me, Nelia Belkova and Kimberly Lyn…import shoe models?
This past weekend, Lacoste hosted an exclusive preview of their summer footwear collection for a small group of bloggers. Offering the irresistible combination of croc-tails, pedicures and a chance to see the brand’s latest shoe offerings up close, the invitation was one I just couldn’t refuse. Neither could fellow bloggers Kimberly Lyn and Nelia Belkova, my spa-mates on that lovely Saturday afternoon.
Toes freshly polished and belly full of lychee drinks, I had my first exposure to Lacoste shoes for women. The verdict? Cute, colourful and comfortable – all the essential ingredients for the perfect casual summer shoe. I was especially taken with the striped, peep-toe wedges and sailor collar slip-on sneakers, both adorned with that unmistakable crocodile logo. In fact, I just might have to stop by my local Lacoste boutique for a pair…or two.
Check out photos of the collection in the gallery below. Which pair are you eyeing?

Say cheese!

Shamelessly cracking open my just-gifted pink jelly sandals so as to avoid doing the post-pedicure walk of shame in paper slippers.

When Karl Lagerfeld presented Chanel’s Resort 2013 collection in Versailles back in May, I had an inkling that the accessories were going to be to-die-for. Well, it’s now been confirmed. The Purse Blog got a close-up look at the handbag, footwear and jewelry line-up recently, and as soon as I saw their gorgeous shots, I knew I was in trouble: I’m in love with every, single piece.
The ridiculous price increases over the last few years made me swear off buying any more Chanel accessories, but I have a feeling Cruise 2013 is going to prove irresistible. On the bright side, at least I have many, many months to save up for that stunning gold and white chain detail bag. Or to work on convincing Santa that I’ve been a really, really good girl.

Another week, another shoe obsession. While I’m still on the hunt for the gorgeous Guccis I posted about last week, another pair has crept back into my footwear-related daydreams over the last few days. Christian Louboutin’s ‘Volpi Poppi’ d’Orsay pumps stopped me dead in my tracks when I spied them at Holt Renfrew a few months ago and then again when I spotted them on this lovely party-goer at The Room’s Rodarte event recently. The more I see them, the more I’m convinced I just can’t live without them.
The Volpi Poppi pumps are currently available at Neiman Marcus (regular price of $995) and at Holt Renfrew (on sale). It might just be time for me to take the plunge…

I can’t stop thinking about this Gucci pump. I spotted the ‘Ophelie’ during an afternoon stroll through the Holt Renfrew shoe section recently, and I’ve been obsessed ever since. The green suede, cage detail heel and gold metal chain straps combine for one absolutely stunning shoe.
Unfortunately, its $1,195 price tag made my decision to leave it behind an easy one, but no less painful. Even the recent markdown over at Neiman Marcus wasn’t enough for this shoeaholic to justify the purchase. I’m praying to the shopping gods for a late sale season miracle.
Put in a good word for me, will you?

I spotted a pair of to-die-for platform pumps in my Twitter feed a few days ago and literally shrieked. The latest object of my obsessions? The ‘Kiss Me Dolores’ shoe from London-based footwear designer Charlotte Dellal‘s first bridal collection.
Dubbed “Runaway Bride,” the 42-piece line-up features designs that are similar in aesthetic and price points to Dellal’s main line for Charlotte Olympia, and are perfect for brides looking for a cheeky alternative to the average satin sandal. Intrigued, my lovely brides-to-be? The collection is/will be available at the Charlotte Olympia flagship stores in New York and London, charlotteolympia.com, and select retailers, including Net-a-porter.
I don’t intend to walk down the aisle again any time soon, but the Mister and I are celebrating our fifth wedding anniversary this year – surely a vow renewal is in order? I kid, of course. When have I ever needed an excuse to buy a pair of new shoes, bridal or otherwise?
