While the rest of us are unstylishly trudging around in snow boots of the fairly unattractive kind, Justine of Jetset Justine rocked a pair of incredibly cool statement heels in last week’s edition of The Canadian Street Style Lookbook. Though we may be cold, our spirit isn’t (yet) broken, so we embarked on a search for shoes with eye-catching heels that will make your jaw drop.
What we found was 10 pairs of to-die-for shoes featuring everything from Swarovski crystals and bamboo to butterflies and even mermaids. Whomever coined the phrase “hate to see you go, but love to see you leave” was surely alluding to footwear with insanely gorgeous statement heels like the pairs in the gallery below. Right?
Solange Knowles was recently tapped by PUMA for the role of creative consultant. Her first order of business? The ’Girls of Blaze’ Disc Collection, a capsule with three versions of the iconic Disc Blaze shoe, made for women for the very first time.
The singer collaborated with Gerlan Marcel of Gerlan Jeans, Soft Circle bandmember and artist Hisham Baroocha, and sisters Darlene and Lizzy Opko of William Opko on very colourful renditions of the first laceless running shoe ever introduced back in 1992. The shoes will be sold exclusively at Opening Ceremony for USD$150 a pop.
They’re perfect for that fitness New Year’s resolution we’re all still going hard on (right, right?). Will you be buying a pair?

Sarah Jessica Parker‘s first collection for her new shoe line has finally been unveiled in all its glory. With the launch date of February 28 just around the corner, that gives you SJP fans plenty of time to save up your lunch money and finalize your shopping lists.
The actress-turned-designer, in collaboration with Manolo Blahnik CEO George Malkemus, has created a line-up of classic, no frills styles. Says Parker, “I’m a firm believer in quality and timelessness and have created this collection with the hopes that women will love wearing it for years to come.”
Check out the gallery below for a gander at SJP’s first shoe design efforts, which will be sold exclusively at Nordstrom. What’s the verdict – would the collection get the Carrie Bradshaw stamp of approval? Or yours, for that matter?

London-based shoe designer Sophia Webster has a knack for the whimsical, and we’ve become big fans of her playful creations ever since we had the chance to admire her work up close and personal when she paid The Room at Hudson’s Bay a visit last fall. We still haven’t gotten our hands on a pair of her beauties though, and we’re thinking her Resort 2014 collection is about to change that.
Enter ‘Lilico’, a gorgeous sandal with flower embellishments, scalloped trims, patent polka dots and striped stiletto heels to boot. Essentially, it’s everything girly combined into one very lovely shoe. Obviously, we have to have it.
The Sophia Webster ‘Lilico’ is available at Net-a-porter for USD$595. Happy Valentine’s Day to us?
Back in June, Sarah Jessica Parker announced that she’d started up her own shoe line, and SATC fans and fellow shoeaholics the world over rejoiced. Now, after 7 months of patiently waiting for more news, we’ve finally been rewarded with a first look at some of the designs from the collection, dubbed SJP.
Not surprisingly, we’re already coveting a few pairs, including a chic T-strap pump named ‘The Carrie’ (after Bradshaw, of course) and a sexy lace-up ankle bootie. Priced from $195 to $485, the offerings aim for versatility: “I’m allergic to the idea that certain shoes are for certain occasions,” says Parker.
The SJP collection will launch exclusively at Nordstrom on February 28. What do you think of the offerings so far – do you have your eye on a pair or two?

No one brings the kitsch quite like accessories designer Charlotte Dellal. Remember the delightful themed accessories Charlotte Olympia offered up last holiday season? She’s doing it again, this time with a capsule collection in celebration of Halloween.
WWD reports that the line-up will feature pumpkins, spiders and bats, including “glow-in-the-dark embroidered bones on black silk satin sandals, laser-cut spider webs on black suede pumps and the brand’s signature kitty flat, which depicts a more sinister-looking cat with fangs.” We knew we’d been holding off on our kitty flat purchase for a good reason, and now we know why: vampire kitty!
Priced from $545 to $1,565 for bags and $745 to $1,475 for shoes, the collection will be sold exclusively at Charlotte Olympia stores, charlotteolympia.com and netaporter.com starting on October 1. Stay tuned for images of the pieces when they become available.
When J.Crew announced a few days ago a collaboration with shoe designer Sophia Webster for Spring 2014, we did a happy dance or four. Two of our favourite things in life, being J.Crew and shoes (obviously), plus Nicholas Kirkwood’s very worthy protégé in the mix too? A recipe for heart-stopping footwear for sure we thought, and boy were we right. We got our first peek at J.Crew’s shoe offerings for spring via the retailer’s NYFW presentation yesterday, and it’s everything we dreamed it would be and then some.
Included in the 30-look line-up are 12 styles designed with Webster, infusing her most popular styles with that unmistakeable J.Crew aesthetic we all know and love. ““The collection is really fun and feminine, very me but still a hybrid of the two brands,” says Webster. Executive Creative Director Jenna Lyons added, “Sophia Webster is one of the most exciting and talented British designers. Her shoes are like miniature sets–a beautiful world for your feet to spend the day in.”
Based on what we’re seeing so far, we can’t wait to dive into the Sophia Webster for J.Crew collaboration feet first next spring. Get a closer look at the J.Crew Spring 2014 shoe line-up in the gallery below, including a peek at what should be most of the insanely gorgeous Webster designs.
