Converse has teamed up with Missoni on a capsule collection launching this fall. The two brands have partnered for a whopping 8th time on a line-up of Chuck Taylor All Stars featuring the Italian design house’s signature zig zag prints.
The collection includes 5 equally covetable colourways in the unisex All Star Missoni and the ladies-only All Star Fancy silhouettes, each pair retailing for $110. If, like us, a pair of Converse x Missoni sneakers has been on your wish list for many seasons now, now’s the time to take the leap. The latest collaboration arrives in Canada this upcoming September at Town Shoes, Little Burgundy, Gravity Pope and Livestock.

Charlotte Dellal is taking us for a ride on the Shanghai Express this fall.
The London-based accessories designer’s latest collection for Charlotte Olympia is a line-up of shoes and handbags inspired by Chinese culture, and it’s full of jaw-droppingly gorgeous pieces. Dubbed ‘Shanghai Express’, the 100+ item offering features everything from pandas and dragons to lanterns and, yes, the prototypical Chinese takeout boxes. Dellal has gone very literal, as usual, and we love her for it.
Admittedly, some pieces lean dangerously towards tacky, but we’re willing to overlook them in favour of the many beautiful designs in the collection. In fact, we’ve fallen head over heels in lust with the gold lattice Pandora clutch (it’s about time we nab one of those Perspex clutches!), the Fantastic Dolly pumps (a TDF new take on a CO classic), as well as every item inspired by blue and white porcelain.

We love our Charlotte Olympia here at The Backseat Stylers, and though S frequently sports her cat pumps at the day job, even she’ll admit that her designs aren’t always the most appropriate for the office. Cue the London-based accessories designer’s latest venture: two new collections of sensible (a word never before used in the same sentence as ‘Charlotte Olympia’) day bags and shoes made for the 9 to 5 gig.
The new lineup will retail from USD$635 to USD$896 for a pair of shoes and from USD$1,195 to USD$2,995 for a handbag. Each pair of boardroom-ready shoes has been designed with a clear PVC detail on the heel, and will come in a box that looks like a briefcase and with a pair of pantyhose for good measure. Because Charlotte Olympia wouldn’t be Charlotte Olympia without even just the smallest touch of whimsy.
We can’t wait to incorporate more of her styles into our office shoe rotation.

While the rest of us are unstylishly trudging around in snow boots of the fairly unattractive kind, Justine of Jetset Justine rocked a pair of incredibly cool statement heels in last week’s edition of The Canadian Street Style Lookbook. Though we may be cold, our spirit isn’t (yet) broken, so we embarked on a search for shoes with eye-catching heels that will make your jaw drop.
What we found was 10 pairs of to-die-for shoes featuring everything from Swarovski crystals and bamboo to butterflies and even mermaids. Whomever coined the phrase “hate to see you go, but love to see you leave” was surely alluding to footwear with insanely gorgeous statement heels like the pairs in the gallery below. Right?
Solange Knowles was recently tapped by PUMA for the role of creative consultant. Her first order of business? The ’Girls of Blaze’ Disc Collection, a capsule with three versions of the iconic Disc Blaze shoe, made for women for the very first time.
The singer collaborated with Gerlan Marcel of Gerlan Jeans, Soft Circle bandmember and artist Hisham Baroocha, and sisters Darlene and Lizzy Opko of William Opko on very colourful renditions of the first laceless running shoe ever introduced back in 1992. The shoes will be sold exclusively at Opening Ceremony for USD$150 a pop.
They’re perfect for that fitness New Year’s resolution we’re all still going hard on (right, right?). Will you be buying a pair?

Sarah Jessica Parker‘s first collection for her new shoe line has finally been unveiled in all its glory. With the launch date of February 28 just around the corner, that gives you SJP fans plenty of time to save up your lunch money and finalize your shopping lists.
The actress-turned-designer, in collaboration with Manolo Blahnik CEO George Malkemus, has created a line-up of classic, no frills styles. Says Parker, “I’m a firm believer in quality and timelessness and have created this collection with the hopes that women will love wearing it for years to come.”

London-based shoe designer Sophia Webster has a knack for the whimsical, and we’ve become big fans of her playful creations ever since we had the chance to admire her work up close and personal when she paid The Room at Hudson’s Bay a visit last fall. We still haven’t gotten our hands on a pair of her beauties though, and we’re thinking her Resort 2014 collection is about to change that.
Enter ‘Lilico’, a gorgeous sandal with flower embellishments, scalloped trims, patent polka dots and striped stiletto heels to boot. Essentially, it’s everything girly combined into one very lovely shoe. Obviously, we have to have it.

Back in June, Sarah Jessica Parker announced that she’d started up her own shoe line, and SATC fans and fellow shoeaholics the world over rejoiced. Now, after 7 months of patiently waiting for more news, we’ve finally been rewarded with a first look at some of the designs from the collection, dubbed SJP.
Not surprisingly, we’re already coveting a few pairs, including a chic T-strap pump named ‘The Carrie’ (after Bradshaw, of course) and a sexy lace-up ankle bootie. Priced from $195 to $485, the offerings aim for versatility: “I’m allergic to the idea that certain shoes are for certain occasions,” says Parker.
