Admiring from the Backseat: Emma Stone in Elie Saab Haute Couture

Emma Stone can’t hit a red carpet without me blogging about it, it seems. Her track record has been impeccable this awards season, and I’m dying to see what she wears to the Oscars this Sunday. Till then, feast your eyes on Emma in Elie Saab Haute Couture.

For Essence’s 5th Annual Black Women in Hollywood Luncheon this week, the actress chose an exquisite white dress from Saab’s Spring 2012 couture collection. She rounded out her very ladylike ensemble with a Ferragamo woven leather box clutch and blush open-toe pumps by Brian Atwood. In a word: perfection!

The Box Again

M, P and I made the trek to Buffalo recently for a highly successful day of outlet shopping and Cheesecake Factory gorging. We also paid a visit to The Box, where some purchases have been waiting for me for quite some time. I finally picked up my Alexander McQueen button trim boots and Smythe white equestrian jacket from The Box. I’m in love with both!

I also finally got the Ferragamo Varina flats I’d been eyeing for over a year now. I’d had no luck catching the black patent version on sale until Saks’ Friends & Family sale a few months ago. I can’t wait to wear them…but am dreading breaking the patent leather in.

A few cute tank tops were also at The Box. I was surprised to find that the D&G bow tank is rather sheer, so I’ll have to find creative ways to wear it without showing the world my not-so-rock-hard abs. The Marc by Marc Jacobs tank has a great pattern to it that gives it depth. It’ll be perfect under jackets and cardigans.

I also finally jumped on the bandage skirt bandwagon. I sprung for this BCBG skirt while I was in Vegas last month because it was 40% off…not too shabby. Now I just need an excuse to wear it out.
Having loaded up the car with all my goodies and finding that I’d already taken up more than my fair share of the trunk space, I didn’t do too much damage shopping in Buffalo the rest of the day. But I’d like to say that I did a great job in enabling P and M! Ahh, the dangers of shopping with a shopaholic.

Salvatore Ferragamo RTW Fall 2010

Style.com

Salvatore Ferragamo Fall 2010 is prepster goes on a safari – and I love it! The warm colour palette is fantastic, and quite unlike anything in my closet these days. I’ve been subconsciously cutting browns and tans out of my life over the past few years and I think it’s time to bring them back.

Coveting from the Backseat – Salvatore Ferragamo Varina Flats

I love bows and especially bows on shoes, but have never been particularly drawn to the Ferragamo Varina flats. The bows on the Varinas just haven’t seemed particularly pretty and feminine to me, so I’ve always written them off. That is, until one day recently I spied a black patent pair on a chic stranger’s feet strutting by and instantly fell in love! I decided a metallic degrade pair would be perfect, but sadly my size was sold out at Saks. That’s never slowed me down before though, so I’ll continue to hold out hope that I’ll find my Varinas soon!
