Admiring from the Backseat: Vanessa Traina in Givenchy Haute Couture by Riccardo Tisci

The last wedding gown I posted was a certain McQueen by Sarah Burton creation that was fit for a duchess; this latest one is perfect for a fashion darling. Stylist and muse Vanessa Traina donned a Givenchy Haute Couture dress designed by Riccardo Tisci to tie the knot with photographer Max Snow last month. It’s modern and vintage, lovely and edgy, and incredibly cool, all at the same time. I’m gushing, I know, but it’s just that kind of dress.

Givenchy Haute Couture by Riccardo Tisci Fall/Winter 2011-12

To say that Riccardo Tisci‘s latest haute couture collection for Givenchy takes my breath away is an incredible understatement. The designs are ethereal and otherworldly, and the perfect follow-up to the house’s equally awe-inspiring Spring 2011 couture collection.

While I may never have the pleasure of seeing the collection in person, this high resolution photograph is the next best thing. I encourage you to click on the image above to see it enlarged; I guarantee your breath will be taken away too.

Admiring from the Backseat: Ciara

The VMA’s isn’t usually the most inspiring awards show style-wise, but when Ciara shows up in Givenchy Haute Couture it’s hard not to take notice…especially when she looks hot as all hell. I’m starting to see why Riccardo Tisci chose her as one of his muses – she’s looked stunning every time I’ve seen her step out in one of his designs.
I’m reminded of a fascinating article I read in W Magazine about Tisci and his many muses a few weeks ago – a must-read. Check it out here.
