Admiring from the Backseat: Elisha Cuthbert in VAWK at People’s Choice Awards

I was half-watching the People’s Choice Awards last night when a familiar looking dress made me do a double-take. I gasped, rewound, and screamed (so loudly that the Mister was alarmed) when I realized that Elisha Cuthbert was indeed wearing a gown from VAWK‘s stunning Resort 2012 collection.

“When it came to selecting my look for the People’s Choice Awards, I looked at a few of the VAWK pieces and fell in love with the gold detailing on this dress,” the actress said in a press release. “I knew I wanted to wear it.” And I don’t blame her. The last time I saw this dress was backstage of VAWK’s Spring 2012 runway show at Toronto Fashion Week, where it quite literally took my breath away.

Seeing the gown again on my television screen, on such a big stage no less, was a proud moment. Congrats to VAWK’s Creative Director Sunny Fong! And kudos to Elisha for what will hopefully be the start of more Canadian fashion on international red carpets.

Admiring from the Backseat: Emma Stone in Gucci at People’s Choice Awards

It’s official: Emma Stone can do no wrong. Sartorially-speaking, anyway. I’ve yet to see a single one of her movies (a travesty, I know), but every time she’s been snapped on a red carpet over the past year, she’s looked flawless.

Last night was no exception. The actress attended the People’s Choice Awards in head-to-toe Gucci, straight off the Spring 2012 runway, and looked fabulous doing it. Her very sharp-looking jacket, in exactly the shade of emerald green I’m obsessed with right now, stole my heart.

With a long list of awards shows still to come, I have no doubt we’ll be seeing Emma on a multitude of best dressed lists over the next few months.
