Remember when Missoni collaborated with Target on a collection of pretty much everything under the sun, and we were feeling a little left out north of the border? Well we’ve got something even better coming our way: Missoni and Holt Renfrew have teamed up to bring us a limited edition stuffed animal duo!
Meet the exclusive Missoni Bear and Elephant, classic Missoni print and all. How cute are they? Each will retail for $50, and are being sold in support of OrphanAid.
“I began volunteering with OrphanAid Africa nine years ago, in its early days,” said Margherita Missoni, President of OrphanAid Africa Italia. “To see the changes and impact we have made to better the lives of children is incredible and rewarding. We are very pleased to have joined forces with Holt Renfrew. The funds raised will further strengthen our cause.”
The adorable striped pair will be available starting November 1. Also, stop by Holt Renfrew’s Bloor Street flagship in Toronto on November 8 for the opportunity to meet Margherita Missoni, Chief Accessories Designer of Missoni, who will be making a public appearance at 5:30 p.m. See you there!

Last week we were pretty darned excited about some sneak peeks of the Missoni for Target collection we got via the September issues of various fashion magazines. Imagine how we feel today with the release of 20 official lookbook images!
In case you don’t already have the date ingrained in your brain, the 400-piece exclusive collection will hit Target stores and Target.com on September 13th. What’s on your wish list so far?

Back in May, we posted a sneak peek of the Missoni for Target ad campaign shoot. Now, not only has the first official image of the campaign been released, but several items from the collection have also popped up in the September issues of various fashion magazines. From clothing and accessories to housewares to bicycles (loving the zigzag patterned bike!), the limited edition Missoni for Target collection, which includes over 400 items, is bound to make Missoni fans in the U.S. very, very happy.
The exclusive collection will hit Target stores and Target.com on September 13th – mark your calendars, if you haven’t already! And watch this space for more sneak peeks.

Just a short year ago, I wasn’t remotely interested in Converse shoes; between my stiletto pumps and cute flats and a running shoe on occasion, I didn’t think there was any need for Chucks in my life. Then I got invited to a media preview and saw all sorts of incredible collaborations between Converse and DC Comics, Marimekko and the like, and I’ve been hooked ever since. Converse’s ongoing partnership with Italian fashion house Missoni and their latest joint project, the limited edition Auckland Racer, only makes an even bigger fan out of me.
Introduced with Missoni’s Spring 2012 men’s collection at Milan Men’s Fashion Week, the knitted sneakers were designed to complement a vintage-style track suit created by Ottavio Missoni himself in 1948 (via freshnessmag). I adore the results – the colour palette, the pattern, the silhouette, all of it. And I much prefer them over the colourful zigzag patterned Chuck Taylors the Missoni x Converse partnership has been producing so far. The Auckland Racers still showcase the iconic Missoni patterns like the Chucks do, but are much more subtle.
Sure, knitted sneakers aren’t the most practical of shoes but, then again, neither are the 6″ platform pumps I can barely walk in. At least these are comfortable.

Earlier this month, news broke of Target’s Fall 2011 collaboration with Missoni, and ever since then Target’s been working overtime to keep any further details, including photos from the preview, under wraps. Finally, though, photos from the collection’s campaign shoot in Milan, featuring Margherita Maccapani Missoni, have been leaked. We knew it would happen sooner or later – this isn’t the royal wedding dress or Tom Ford, after all – and we’re incredibly excited about what we see!
With just 7 photos we can already tell the 400-piece collection is going to be more fun than we ourselves had even imagined over the past month. No sign yet of the $599.99 patio set we’re dying to see, but we spot Missoni’s signature zigzag colourful stripes on several pieces of womenswear, menswear, scarves, shoes, luggage, stationary, a cellphone case and even bicycles! So far I have my eye on the men’s cardigans and tie for the Mister.
The collection will be available in stores and online from September 13 to October 22, 2011. What do you think of it so far?

Vogue.com broke the news today that Target’s next designer collaboration will be with none other than Missoni, the Italian design house known for its colourful knitwear. The collection, will which be available in stores and online from September 13 to October 22, 2011, will include over 400 items, ranging from clothing for men, women and children to household items like bedding and dinnerware.
Here, finally, is the chance to own Missoni’s signature zigzag knits at a fraction of the line’s ready-to-wear and M Missoni diffusion line prices. I can’t wait to see what the Missoni clan have cooked up for Target!
