Stylin’ from the Backseat: Shakin’ It

Marc by Marc Jacobs hoodie / Fidelity Denim Shaker cargo pants / Chloé wedge boots / Make Up For Ever makeup

Last week, my J Brand Houlihans were the centre of attention in our weekly installment of Stylin’ from the Backseat. This week, a very distant cousin of my J Brands take the stage. I wore these Fidelity Denim Shaker cargo jeans the day after my first outing with my J Brand cargo skinnies, so me and Mr. Backseat Styler couldn’t have made a more direct comparison between the two unless I had had one leg and butt cheek in one pant and the other leg and butt cheek in the other. Which would be rather odd, to say the least.

The Box Again

M, P and I made the trek to Buffalo recently for a highly successful day of outlet shopping and Cheesecake Factory gorging. We also paid a visit to The Box, where some purchases have been waiting for me for quite some time. I finally picked up my Alexander McQueen button trim boots and Smythe white equestrian jacket from The Box. I’m in love with both!

I also finally got the Ferragamo Varina flats I’d been eyeing for over a year now. I’d had no luck catching the black patent version on sale until Saks’ Friends & Family sale a few months ago. I can’t wait to wear them…but am dreading breaking the patent leather in.

A few cute tank tops were also at The Box. I was surprised to find that the D&G bow tank is rather sheer, so I’ll have to find creative ways to wear it without showing the world my not-so-rock-hard abs. The Marc by Marc Jacobs tank has a great pattern to it that gives it depth. It’ll be perfect under jackets and cardigans.

I also finally jumped on the bandage skirt bandwagon. I sprung for this BCBG skirt while I was in Vegas last month because it was 40% off…not too shabby. Now I just need an excuse to wear it out.
Having loaded up the car with all my goodies and finding that I’d already taken up more than my fair share of the trunk space, I didn’t do too much damage shopping in Buffalo the rest of the day. But I’d like to say that I did a great job in enabling P and M! Ahh, the dangers of shopping with a shopaholic.

Marc by Marc Jacobs Fall 2010

Style.com
The M by MJ line for Fall 2010 is incredibly on point with current trends; military, plaid, lace, swiss dots – it’s all there. The collection, as always, is very wearable and I have my eye on about half of what went down that runway. From the hats to the dresses and all the way down to the shoes, I want to wear it all now.

Miss Marc Hearts Canada and I Heart Miss Marc

I’ve been on a search for the perfect Miss Marc tee over the past few months, but hadn’t yet spied any that stole my heart. I was patiently awaiting next season’s Miss Marc printed tees and did a check of the M by MJ stock on a recent routine visit to Holt Renfrew when, lo and behold, I spotted something rather exciting – a Mr. & Miss Marc ski lift t-shirt exclusive to Holt Renfrew…how fun! I’ve been feeling especially patriotic the past little while with the Olympics coming up, so it seemed like a cute way to pay homage to Marc Jacobs and Canada.
As intrigued as I was by my discovery, the timing was a bit off. I’d just done some damage elsewhere in the mall and wasn’t sure if the most judicious way to spend my money was on a Miss Marc tee. Well, 2 weeks later, I was still thinking about that t-shirt and how perfectly it would’ve gone with my official Canada Olympic hoodie from the Bay. Unable to resist any longer, I made some calls this morning, found my size, and I now have a package on its way to me from Holt’s. I couldn’t decide which colour to get (it comes in white and dapper grey), so I have both coming to me. I’m leaning towards the white though…the white/red combo just seems a tad more Canadian.
Armed with my new Miss Marc tee, my official Canada Olympic hoodie and my remote control, I’m now set for the Olympics. Let the Games begin!
UPDATE:
Holt Renfrew overnighted the package to me, so it’s already arrived just a mere 24 hours after I ordered the t-shirts – now that’s service! And quite unexpectedly, it appears it’s the grey version I’ll be sporting during the Olympics rather than the white. The graphic and colours pop a tad more against the grey background. My first Miss Marc tee – yay!
