The Canadian Street Style Lookbook – October 17, 2014 Edition

Alanna Durkovich of Xander Vintage, Vancouver

This week’s Lookbook is all about fashion firsts.

Lisa was the first to rock a look from the highly anticipated Alexander Wang x H&M collaboration (#NBD), Sasha was the first to sport a piece from the 424 Fifth Fall collection we’ve been obsessing about for months, and Nelia was the first to ever make us consider going grey on purpose as she debuted her new platinum ‘do.

We may be hanging out in the backseat, but our favourite Canadian style bloggers sure aren’t – they’re right at the forefront of the scene.

The Canadian Street Style Lookbook – August 8, 2014 Edition

Anik Lacasse-Richard of Montreal In Style, Montreal

With everyone on the east coast in Montreal for Osheaga (or so it seemed, at least), this past week was all about festival fashion on the Canadian style blogs.

Anik, Gabrielle and Hawley showed us how it’s done: Anik toughened up a pretty floral maxi with ankle boots and heavy statement jewelry, Gabrielle rocked some summer leather in a fierce, perforated vest, and Hawley topped a summery printed frock off with an angelic crown braid.

The Canadian Street Style Lookbook – April 25, 2014 Edition

Jenny Jovanovic of Crazy Style Love, Toronto

This week, Canadian style bloggers from coast to coast made one thing clear: pants are for suckers. Cute skirts, chic dresses and bare legs are the formula for spring dressing – they’re all abiding by it and looking downright fresh too.

From Jenny‘s girly fuchsia birdcage skirt and polka dot top pairing to Alanna‘s whimsical bird print frock getup, we’re feeling inspired to finally put those black tights in storage and show some leg. Now if only the gams weren’t so grey from a long winter away from the sun…

The Canadian Street Style Lookbook – April 18, 2014 Edition

Jill Lansky of The August Diaries, Vancouver

Spring has sprung in our favourite Canadian style bloggers’ wardrobes. Flowers have begun blooming (in some parts of the country), and likewise greenery is making appearances in bloggers’ sartorial odes to the arrival of spring.

This week, Ania paired a foliage print collared shirt with white trousers for a cool, mensy vibe, Marie sported rose print cropped pants in the perfect transitional look, and Ivy donned a cute palm tree print sweatshirt for a visit to see the cherry blossoms that have already bloomed in Vancouver.

The Canadian Street Style Lookbook – March 28, 2014 Edition

Amanda by Max Kopanygin for MTV Fora, Toronto

With fashion weeks taking place both in Vancouver and Toronto last week, this week’s edition of The Canadian Street Style Lookbook is a particularly juicy one. Our favourite style bloggers from coast to coast descended on the two cities to take in the Fall 2014 collections in their fashion week best, serving up some serious eye candy.

In Vancouver, Ivy channeled her ladylike sensibility into a very feminine blush and black-and-white polka dot pairing. On the other side of the country in Toronto, Amanda (snapped by street style photographer Max Kopanygin) put on a lesson in metallic dressing. She also put forth a very strong case for socks with sandals.

We’d be remiss if we didn’t mention the Beckerman sisters. The Simpsons-adorned denim jacket, yin yang handbag and bright yellow knits they sported to World Mastercard Fashion Week are proof that no one has as much fun as they do with fashion.

The Canadian Street Style Lookbook – March 21, 2014 Edition

Alyssa Lau of Ordinary People, Edmonton

The Canadian Street Style Lookbook is a weekly peek into the style diaries of some of our country’s most sartorially gifted, and a visual reminder of what’s trending right now. The major takeaway from this week’s edition? Stripes are the new black.

Toronto’s Barbara and Vancouver’s Lydia both rocked striped getups this week in their Lookbook debuts. The former donned an eye-catching head-to-toe black and white look (we bow down), while the latter edged up a cute striped frock with a cool denim moto jacket and red tights (love!).

Krystin sported stripes too, pairing a simple tee with a girly tulle skirt for a lovely look indeed. The evidence is all there: black and white stripes are now officially a neutral.

The Canadian Street Style Lookbook – January 17, 2014 Edition

Liz Clark of Elizabeth Victoria Clark, Toronto

This week’s edition of The Canadian Street Style Lookbook has us daydreaming. Not of shoes, bags and other of life’s greatest sartorial delights, but of sunnier, balmier surroundings. Style snaps of Liz and Cara sporting chic, summery frocks while on vacation in Florida and Florence respectively have us feeling just a tad envious. But do you blame us, really?

We have no trips planned for the near future, but that doesn’t mean we can’t still wear the cute dresses too. Under our parkas. So there’s that at least.

The Canadian Street Style Lookbook – January 10, 2014 Edition

Jill Lansky of The August Diaries, Vancouver

New year, new faces. Winter is the most opportune time to discover new style bloggers to feature in The Canadian Street Style Lookbook; only the most fabulous of outfits can justify venturing out into the polar vortex for a photo shoot, so the results are usually very worth it.

This week we have 3 new-to-the-Lookbook bloggers to introduce to you: Jill from Vancouver perfecting Parisienne-chic, Deanne from Toronto putting on a lesson in wearing print on print, and Laura from Ottawa making a strong case for the teal and burgundy colour palette.

Know an uber-chic Canadian blogger you’re dying to see in the Lookbook? Shoot us an email - we’d love to meet them!

The Canadian Street Style Lookbook – Best of 2013!

Started in 2012, The Canadian Street Style Lookbook really hit its stride in its first full year, and it was all thanks to the very fashionable style bloggers we featured from coast to coast. With over 400 looks served up in our weekly round-ups in 2013, one fact became abundantly clear: we’re one stylish nation. From the Pantone colour of the year emerald green to leather everything to that inescapable Zara skort, our favourite bloggers rocked all of the year’s biggest trends, but they also marched to the beat of their own style drum.

Over the last 12 months, established stars like Samantha, Caillianne and Chloe Beckerman of Beckerman Bite Plate and Nelia Belkova of Style Blog continued to awe and inspire us, Lookbook mainstays like Ania Boniecka of Ania.B, Ivy Xu of This Is What We Do and Krystin Lee of Suburban Faux Pas took their sartorial games to the next level, and newcomers like Sasha Exeter of So Sasha and Vanessa Cesario of The Brunette Salad arrived on the scene with a fashionable bang.

With week after week of ultra-chic ensembles, selecting just 10 of our favourites was an impossible task…so we chose 20 instead. Thank you to all the ladies and gents we featured in 2013 for a year’s worth of blog fodder – we bow down to your sartorial talents. We can’t wait to show you lovely readers what Canadian style bloggers from across the country, including Lookbook regulars and new faces we’ve yet to discover, are wearing in 2014!

Alexandra Nikolajev of I’m A Little, Toronto
A fresh, preppy take on the Canadian Tuxedo, which made a triumphant return to the style scene this year. Done with gold accessories and a touch of leopard, double denim never looked better.

Alyssa Lau of The Ordinary Peoples, Edmonton
The statement coat doesn’t get much bolder than in this metallic hue, styled to perfection with neutrals by Edmonton’s fashion blogging golden girl, a Lookbook regular.

Ania Boniecka of Ania.B, Victoria
This Calgary native served up chic look after chic look all year. This effortless, head-to-toe black getup stole our hearts, but we could have easily included another handful of Ania’s outfits in this year-end round-up. She’s just that good.

Anik Lacasse-Richard of Montreal In Style, Montreal
Leopard print and burgundy leather are a match made in style heaven, and we’d expect nothing less from this fierce Montrealer. She never fails to impress with her non-stop stream of edgy ensembles.

Anonymous by Ania Boniecka of Ania.B, Calgary
The classic black-and-white colour combo was a huge trend this year, but done with a strategically placed pop of orange (and the most amazing round bob!)? A standout look.

The Canadian Street Style Lookbook – December 20, 2013 Edition

Sasha Exeter of So Sasha, Toronto

With Christmas only a few days away (OMG!), holiday dressing is in full effect on our favourite Canadian style blogs.

This week, Sasha rocked a printed emerald green frock perhaps in one last ode to 2013′s colour of the year, Ania donned an always chic head-to-toe winter white ensemble, Jill chose to celebrate in all black everything with a touch of leather, and Krystin topped off her classic LBD with an ultra-glam faux fur coat.
