Alberta Ferretti for Impulse at Macy’s – Complete Lookbook!

Macy’s released the complete lookbook for its latest collaboration, with Italian designer Alberta Ferretti, today. From floor-length dresses in punchy colours to lightweight, airy knits, the summery line-up of dresses and separates will retail between $49 and $119.

The 30-piece collection bows in stores and online at macys.com on April 17. All I need is a trip to the Amalfi Coast, which inspired Ferretti’s designs, to go with the maxi dress I’m eyeing. That’s not asking a lot now, is it?

Announced: Alberta Ferretti for Impulse at Macy’s, Zac Posen for Lord & Taylor

Zac Posen styling his last collaboration, with Target

This week has been chock full of collaboration news: sneak peeks of Marni for H&M, the launch of Jason Wu for Target this upcoming weekend, and now announcements of Zac Posen for Lord & Taylor and Alberta Ferretti for Impulse at Macy’s.

Posen, whose designs have been all over the red carpets this awards season, has partnered with Lord & Taylor on a capsule collection of twelve dresses for Spring. The line will be priced, rather reasonably, from $149 to $199.

Italian designer Ferretti has designed a 30-piece collection for Impulse at Macy’s, inspired by the Amalfi Coast. The line-up of feminine dresses and separates will retail between $49 and $119.

Both collaborations hit stores in April. Which one are you most looking forward to?

Doo-Ri for Macy’s Impulse Capsule Collection – Complete Lookbook!

Back in October, it was announced that contemporary designer Doo-Ri Chung was next in line to collaborate with Macy’s on a capsule collection for Impulse. This week, the retailer released the full lookbook of dresses, separates, and outerwear. Priced from from $39 to $159, the collection will hit 225 Macy’s stores and macys.com on Feb. 15.

I’ve got my eye on that lovely jersey maxi dress featured in the campaign (pictured above), which at $79 is quite reasonably priced for a piece designed by Doo-Ri Chung. I might just have to make the drive to Macy’s. Road trip, anyone?

Doo-Ri for Macy’s Impulse Announced for February 2012

A week doesn’t go by, it seems, without there being a new designer collaboration announcement or lookbook from Macy’s. The speed at which the US retailer is churning out guest designer collections for Impulse is impressive, to say the least. After releasing the Giambattista Valli for Macy’s lookbook just last week, Macy’s announced their next guest designer for Impulse today, Doo-Ri Chung.

Known for her draping and work with jersey, Chung’s collection for Macy’s will feature short and maxi dresses, leggings, blouses, and trenchcoats, which will be priced from $39 to $159. The collection will hit 225 Macy’s stores and macys.com on Feb. 15, 2012 and will be available for about eight weeks.

Giambattista Valli for Macy’s Confirmed to Launch in October

Macy’s is giving Target a run for their money in the game of designer collaborations. With capsule collections by fashion heavyweights Karl Lagerfeld and Anna Dello Russo already slated to hit stores this Fall, the retailer has announced yet another collaboration, this time with couturier Giambattista Valli.

Valli’s designs for Macy’s Impulse series will feature a similar aesthetic to his main line, using feminine fabrics like lace, brocade and tulle, bold prints and vibrant colour in cocktail dresses, separates, lightweight jackets and graphic tees. Prices will start at $50, which is a far cry from the designer’s ready-to-wear price tags.

The collection will launch in stores and online at macys.com on October 26th. I’ll be all over this collaboration if it’s full of elegant yet fun designs like the red and pink dress with exaggerated ruffles that Emma Stone wore to the Friends With Benefits premiere last month. Are you excited too?

Karl Lagerfeld for Macy’s Fall 2011 Capsule Collection – Lookbook

After the sneak peek we got recently, Macy’s has finally released the lookbook for Karl Lagerfeld‘s exclusive 45-piece limited-edition collection for the retailer. Due to hit 235 stores and macys.com on August 31st, the collection includes a range of dresses, separates and outerwear, all priced from $50 to $170.

I’m thinking, at the very least, a t-shirt featuring Kaiser Karl’s image is a must. Check out the gallery for the full collection, plus images from the ad campaign featuring Coco Rocha. Also, watch the behind-the-scenes video here.

What’s on your wishlist?

Karl Lagerfeld for Macy’s Fall 2011 Capsule Collection – Sneak Peek!

Last November, we reported that Karl Lagerfeld would be designing a capsule collection for Fall 2011 for Impulse at Macy’s. This week rumours have been swirling that the lookbook will be unveiled any day now, and while it’s yet to materialize, there have been sneak peeks of the collection here and there.

Jeff Gennette, Macy’s Inc.’s chief merchandising officer, told WWD that the collection is “really focused on statement jackets, tweeds, novelty fabrics, and dresses”. One of these dresses, priced at $109, is featured in Vogue‘s August ’Steal of the Month’. The high-collared, floral-print dress is described by the designer as “a coup d’oeil to the dresses I designed for Chloe and the girlish, more romantic mood of the seventies.” There will also be graphic T-shirts, airy tops, croc-print jackets and chic rock ’n’ roll leggings.

The collection will include 45 pieces in total, ranging in price from $50 to $170. It will hit the sales floors of 235 Macy’s stores across the US, as well as macys.com, on August 31st, and will have a limited run of six to eight weeks.

There isn’t much to go on yet, but what do you think so far – are you intrigued?

Matthew Williamson for Macy’s Capsule Collection

Finally, photos of Matthew Williamson‘s highly anticipated capsule collection for Impulse at Macy’s are out! Due to hit stores and Macys.com on April 13, 2011, the collection, said Williamson, ”aims to capture the essence of the mainline brand, with a focus on effortless glamour, dynamic prints, loosely structured silhouettes and pops of strong color”. Pieces range from $24 for a printed scarf to $299 for a leather jacket (pictured above). For a designer whose wares are generally priced well over my budget, being able to score a signature patterned dress for under $200 sounds like a fantastic deal to me!

Check out the gallery for the full lookbook and photos of the entire collection. Does anything catch your eye, or are you pattern-shy (like me!)?

Kinder Aggugini for Macy’s Capsule Collection

Back in November, I posted about Karl Lagerfeld’s upcoming capsule collection for Impulse at Macy’s. Word on the street, though, is that we have a few designer collaborations to get through before it’s Kaiser Karl’s turn. While an Impulse collection by Matthew Williamson is rumoured to be on the horizon, first up is British designer Kinder Aggugini. Though much less of a household name here in North America than some of his fellow British designers, Aggugini is sure to raise his profile stateside with his capsule collection for Macy’s, due out in stores and online on February 15, 2011.

What do you think of the designs – is Kinder Aggugini now on your radar?

Karl Lagerfeld for Macy’s Capsule Collection Announced

After the Lanvin (hearts) H&M madness last Saturday and the Valentino for Gap insanity to ensue this weekend, I had declared to my friend J that in all likelihood only Karl Lagerfeld could get us this excited again for a designer collaboration. Now, right on cue, WWD reports that Karl Lagerfeld is set to design a capsule collection of womenswear and limited menswear pieces for Macy’s next year. The one-time, limited edition collection will be available in about 250 stores as well as online in September 2011.

I missed out on Karl Lagerfeld’s collection for H&M a few years ago, so I’m going to be all over this one! These designer collaborations are seriously going to be the end of me. Are you freaking out about Karl Lagerfeld x Macy’s too?
