Rosie Huntington-Whiteley in Pre-Fall 2013 at the Vogue Dinner for Michael Kors
Michael Kors has been on an epic roll of late. With a record-breaking IPO last year, a loyal fanbase that includes Michelle Obama, a spot on the Time 100, and soaring profits to boot, the American designer and former (and our favourite!) Project Runway judge is looking pretty unstoppable right about now.
In fact, Kors fever is about to hit an all-time high in Toronto with the #MKToronto bash this evening, where the designer himself will be in attendance. We can’t wait to hear some Project Runway-worthy pearls of wisdom.
Follow the #MKToronto hashtag for the scoop and stay tuned for our recap later this week. In the meantime, check out our 5 favourite Michael Kors looks on the red carpets so far this year.

Anne Hathaway in Armani Prive at 2011 Golden Globe Awards
It’s official, ladies and gents! Sunday marks the beginning of this year’s awards season in Hollywood, and we’re excitedly counting down the days until the Tina Fey and Amy Poehler-hosted Golden Globes. After that, it’s going to be a non-stop red carpet glam fest as our favourite stars attend the Globes, the SAGs and finally the Oscars.
This year’s batch of nominees include leading ladies who not only have serious acting chops, but impeccable style to match (or, at least, the most talented stylists on their payrolls). We’ve rounded up the 10 actresses we’re most excited to see on the awards show red carpets this season, along with our favourite look of theirs to date.
From stars of the silver screen like Anne Hathaway and Jennifer Lawrence to those who’ve graced our televisions this past year like Claire Danes and Julianne Moore, we can’t wait to cover their sartorial choices over the next couple of months. Valentino, Dior, Elie Saab…gorgeous gowns are coming to a glamourous red carpet near you. Stay tuned!

Awards season is one of my most favourite times of the year, so I’ve been a bit disappointed with the slow start we’ve had this season style-wise. The ensembles at the People’s Choice Awards were completely mundane, and I was left rather uninspired by the Golden Globes the as well.
I wasn’t going to bother with a post about Golden Globes fashion until I read André Leon Talley’s Globes review, which was infused with good and bad fashion and a whole lot of ALT wit. It reminded me that though over 200 gowns sashayed down the red carpet and were largely very blah, there were still a few standouts worth highlighting.
Zoe Saldana’s romantic Louis Vuitton confection was the perfect shade of berry. She seems to be on a roll.
I needed a few days to digest Maggie Gyllenhaal’s RM by Roland Mouret gown. I loved the unexpected colour, the origami pleating and just how beautifully Maggie carried herself in the dress. I wasn’t so much of a fan of the mermaid silhouette, but I got over it.
I also debated January Jones’ look. Black seems like such an unexciting choice of colour when the whole spectrum is at your disposal, but her Lanvin gown has a sense of drama that’s only magnified by its colour. The headband I could do without though.
Grey is not really a colour you choose if you want to shine on the red carpet, but Sofia Vergara’s very unexpected Carolina Herrera just works.
Emily Blunt’s Dolce & Gabbana gown was a safe choice, but gorgeous nonetheless and it was styled with perfection.
Next stop: the SAG Awards this weekend and the Grammys the following week!
