Another day, another freak out worthy designer collaboration announcement. This time? Roland Mouret for Banana Republic.
The French designer and celebrity red carpet favourite has created a 25-piece collection of separates and, of course, dresses that will launch this upcoming August. The dresses – the bread and butter of Mouret’s eponymous line – will retail from $165, a much more pocketbook-friendly price point than his wares usually sell for.
“It’s not a copy of my clothes in a less expensive [version],” says Mouret, “but the experience of a fitted dress for the Banana Republic customer.” As big fans of both Roland Mouret and Banana Republic, we’ll take it.
And so Banana Republic continues its streak of very buzzworthy and covetable designer capsule collections. We can’t wait to see the Roland Mouret offering.

H&M announced yesterday a doozy of a designer collaboration at Coachella. Following last fall’s highly successful capsule collection with Isabel Marant, the next in line to team up with the fast fashion retailer is none other than Alexander Wang, the very first American designer to do so. And we are downright freaking out over the news.
“Alexander Wang is one of the most important voices in fashion today,” said Margareta van den Bosch, H&M’s creative advisor, in a press release. “He understands exactly what people want to wear and does it with an energy and passion that’s infectious. It feels incredible to be collaborating with him this year.”
The lineup will feature both men’s and women’s apparel and accessories. With a high profile name like Wang, who serves as creative director of both his eponymous line and the house of Balenciaga, this latest designer collaboration promises to be the most highly anticipated to date.
Alexander Wang said, “I am honoured to be a part of H&M’s designer collaborations. The work with their team is an exciting, fun process. They are very open to push boundaries and to set a platform for creativity. This will be a great way for a wider audience to experience elements of the Alexander Wang brand and lifestyle.”
Mark your calendars, ladies and gents: Alexander Wang x H&M will launch in 250 H&M stores worldwide and online on November 6, 2014. We’re already counting down the days.

Solange Knowles was recently tapped by PUMA for the role of creative consultant. Her first order of business? The ’Girls of Blaze’ Disc Collection, a capsule with three versions of the iconic Disc Blaze shoe, made for women for the very first time.
The singer collaborated with Gerlan Marcel of Gerlan Jeans, Soft Circle bandmember and artist Hisham Baroocha, and sisters Darlene and Lizzy Opko of William Opko on very colourful renditions of the first laceless running shoe ever introduced back in 1992. The shoes will be sold exclusively at Opening Ceremony for USD$150 a pop.

It’s now month #2 of the year, and if you’ve started to falter on that New Year’s resolution exercise regimen, here’s some news that might keep you going for a few more months: Topshop has teamed up with Adidas Originals on a 20-piece capsule collection of stylish activewear.
Due to launch in select Topshop and Adidas stores around the world as well as on topshop.com late March, the line-up will feature slim-fitting three-stripe track pants, printed tanks and sweatshirts, and, of course, sneakers in fun leather and print combos. The collection will be priced from USD$35 for a tank top to USD$135 for a pair of sneakers.
If, like T, you’ve been on a Stella Greenspan-inspired search for the perfect pair of track pants for several years now, this just might be the moment all your activewear dreams come true, so mark that calendar for March 20. And keep at that New Year’s resolution in the meantime – you can do it!

Banana Republic is looking to continue its streak of highly covetable designer collaborations in 2014. Up next? A limited edition capsule created with Finnish design company Marimekko, just in time for summer.
“Marimekko’s unique design of pattern and colour has always inspired me as a designer,” said Banana Republic Vice President of Women’s Design, Melloney Birkett in a press release. “With this summer capsule, we wanted to create a collection that marries Marimekko’s iconic prints with our signature silhouettes. We were inspired by Marimekko founder Armi Ratia’s motto of, ‘Stand out from the rest,’ and we designed a collection of must-have summer standouts.”
Due to hit Banana Republic stores and online in late May, the almost 25-piece collection of dresses, separates and accessories will feature the type of bold and colourful patterns that Marimekko is known for the world over. The offerings will be priced from $50 for a tank top to $175 for a dress, with accessories ranging from $69.50 for a clutch to $98 for a pair of shoes.
Only one look has been released so far, but it’s looking downright cute and delightfully loud. Are you excited for Banana Republic’s next collab?

Ever since we got a little sneak peek of the upcoming Peter Pilotto for Target collaboration last month, we’ve been anxious to see the rest of the collection, and today our long wait has finally come to an end: the complete collection and lookbook have been unveiled.
Design duo Christopher De Vos and Peter Pilotto have created a 60+ piece line-up with their signature bold, brightly-coloured prints – this time surf-inspired. Said De Vos, “The starting point was swimwear, and we were very happy that we could do it first with Target. We found it exciting to build the looks around that category. That was the idea that there are all these pieces in swimwear like rash guards and tops that you build an outfit around.”
The rash guards don’t quite make our wish list (truthfully, we had to google ‘rash guard’), but more than a few of the blouses, skirts and dresses definitely do. Maybe even a pair of sunglasses to complete the look. Pricing will be very pocketbook-friendly, ranging from $14.99 to $79.99 for apparel and swimwear and $16.99 to $39.99 for accessories.

Remember back in February when Oscar de la Renta teamed up with TheOutnet.com on an exclusive collection of tea party-ready dresses and separates, and the whole fashion world rejoiced? Well, it’s time to do it all over again, because Mr. de la Renta has collaborated with the online retailer on a second collection, due out next week on December 17.
The 20-piece evening wear collection is featured in a campaign fronted by street style star Miroslava Duma. “Oscar de la Renta’s style is very classic, very uptown – it makes you feel confident, chic and elegant,” says Mira. “I love the Oscar de la Renta for The Outnet collection; its beautiful silk dresses and feminine silhouettes are elegant and sophisticated.”
In fact, Mira has been a longtime ODLR fan. “For my graduation party I bought a piece from Oscar de la Renta. It was an Audrey Hepburn-style black dress and although it was very expensive, I still wear it now. It was worth it. Oscar really is the best brand you can invest in.” If it’s good enough for Ms. Duma’s wardrobe, it’s certainly good enough for ours, especially at prices much more friendly to the pocketbook than the designer’s main line. The collection will retail between $325 for a tank to $1,095 for a floor-length dress.

We weren’t expecting to get a first look at Target‘s upcoming high-low collaboration with London-based label Peter Pilotto any time soon, but the discount retailer has released a single image via Elle.com, and it’s looking rather promising. Bold prints and silhouettes are key features of design duo Christopher De Vos and Peter Pilotto’s aesthetic, and that’s exactly what they’re serving up for Target customers.
“Even if it’s a cheaper price point, it was mutually agreed with Target that the collection had to look very Peter Pilotto,” De Vos says, and so far it does. Floral and geometric graphics are printed on tops, bottoms and even shoes. From left: Stretch-nylon swim top, $25; cotton, nylon, and spandex skirt, $35; cotton and nylon slip-on sneakers, $30 a pair; spandex-blend romper, $50; spandex-blend racer-back tank, $25; and skirt, $35.
