From Chanel to Valli, we spent the last week admiring all the jaw-droppingly gorgeous designs at the Fall 2014 edition of Paris Haute Couture Fashion Week. Now with all the shows having wrapped up, we’ve gone through the incredibly difficult (yet abundantly enjoyable) task of rounding up our 25 favourite looks. Call it our red carpet wish list for the upcoming season of awards shows, movie premieres and the like, if you will.
We’re lookin’ at you, Ms. Blanchett. You too, Ms. Kruger.

Lupita Nyong’o in Christian Dior Fall 2013 Couture
The BAFTA Film Awards were held at The Royal Opera House in London, England yesterday, and the Lupita Nyong’o and Cate Blanchett style watch continued. Neither disappointed; Lupita donned a gorgeous green couture number by Dior, while Cate chose a floral print column gown by Alexander McQueen.
This awards season’s sartorial frontrunners weren’t the only ones to impress. Naomi Harris brought a chic pop of pink Gucci to the red carpet, Angelina Jolie looked cool as a cucumber in a Saint Laurent tuxedo, and Olga Kurylenko stunned in a mermaid-inspired gown by Burberry.
The Academy Awards are just around the corner on March 2 (with Ellen DeGeneres as host!), and we can’t wait to see what these and our other favourite leading ladies have planned for the red carpet of all red carpets.

It’s been mere days since the Spring 2014 haute couture collections were unveiled in Paris, and many of the stunning looks have already made red carpet appearances. Rihanna rocked an uber-sexy gown by Alexandre Vauthier to Clive Davis’ pre-Grammy party, Lady Gaga chose a beautiful Alexis Mabille design for the 2014 MusiCares Person Of The Year event, Rita Ora donned an embellished shirt dress also by Vauthier to the Roc Nation pre-Grammy brunch, and Katy Perry sported not one but two exquisite Valentinos to the Grammy awards show.
Next stop? The BAFTAs, the Oscars, and an endless stream of entertainment industry events with ‘haute couture’ as the dress code scheduled for the coming months. We can’t say for sure what other designs from couture week will be hitting the red carpets, but we’ve rounded up 25 of the most gorgeous gowns from the Spring 2014 collections for your previewing pleasure. We can’t wait to spy the likes of Cate Blanchett, Lupita N’yongo and Jennifer Lawrence in these stunning looks.

Amy Adams in Antonio Berardi
The 2014 edition of the Screen Actors Guild Awards were held at the Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles last night, and this awards season’s crop of stars hit the red carpet in glamourous fashion.
Cate Blanchett and Lupita Nyong’o continued their respective style streaks in stunning Givenchy and Gucci creations, while Amy Adams, Sandra Bullock and Jennifer Lawrence all improved on their Golden Globes showings last week. Sofia Vergara and Claire Danes, two of our favourite actresses from the small screen, also brought their sartorial A games in gorgeous Donna Karan Atelier and Vionnet metallic gowns.
Check out our 10 best dressed from the 2014 SAG Awards. Did we get it right in your books?

From awards shows to film festivals to fashion fetes, 2013 has been quite a year on the red carpets. With 365 days worth of drop-dead gorgeous looks to choose from, selecting a short list of the 10 best dressed of the year actually turned out to be an easier task than we anticipated. That’s just how fabulous the 10 looks that made our list really were.
Repeat winners like Rooney Mara and Diane Kruger continued to bring their A games in 2013, making our list two years in a row. The rest of the list was rounded out by established stars like Cate Blanchett and Marion Cotillard, future hall-of-famers Jessica Chastain and Kerry Washington, newcomers like Lupita Nyongo and Shu Qui, and surprise contender Rihanna.
Are you in as much awe as we are over these 10 best dressed ladies and their stunning looks, or did we miss some of your favourites from the year?

We’ve been counting down the days until The Hunger Games: Catching Fire hits theatres on November 22, but with every new trailer or commercial we see, we’re starting to lose our patience. Thankfully, we’ve had the film’s premieres around the world and the cast’s red carpet appearances to keep us occupied until the big day.
Jennifer Lawrence has been rocking Dior after Dior during this premiere tour, and her choice for this past weekend’s showing in Paris was no different. JLaw donned a decidedly darker design from Dior’s Fall 2013 haute couture collection, complete with deep red lip, edgy new ‘do, and even some side boob action. Fierce.
But, seriously, is it November 22 yet?

The Toronto International Film Festival officially wrapped up yesterday; the red carpets have been rolled up and the celebrities have returned to Hollywood, but we’re still riding that high that only the film festival can bring. We’re going to miss our favourite actresses walking the streets of Toronto in haute couture frocks, but awards season will be here before we know it.
In the meantime, we’ve rounded up our 10 favourite red carpet looks of TIFF 2013 to help with the withdrawal. From Julia Roberts in a gorgeous red Dolce & Gabbana number to Dakota Fanning in a jaw-dropping Atelier Versace gown, this year’s crop of stars brought their sartorial A games, making for the most fabulous Festival to date.

Our fair city is all abuzz this week with Toronto International Film Festival preparations: the red carpets have been steam cleaned, the celeb gifting lounges stocked up, and the film reels set to play. The TIFF circus officially starts tomorrow, and we couldn’t be more excited. Ryan Gosling may not be making an appearance at the festival this year, but if there’s one thing that gets us even more into a tizzy than The Gos, it’s red carpet fashion.
Over the next 11 days, couture pieces flown in from Europe will be spotlighted alongside the very best Canadian designers have to offer, and we can’t wait to take it all in. In the meantime, we’ve rounded up 10 of our absolute favourite looks from TIFFs gone by for your viewing pleasure.
Epic past red carpet moments like Carey Mulligan in whimsical, galaxy-print Christopher Kane, Eva Mendes in an ultra-glam black Andrew Gn gown and Blake Lively in red-hot, floral-embellished Chanel Haute Couture are going to be a challenge for this year’s crop of stars to top.

That’s a wrap! After a 12-day red carpet extravaganza, the Cannes Film Festival has come to an end for another year. Of course, it’s not really over until we’ve pored over all the celebrity style snaps and narrowed them down to our 5 favourite looks of the festival.
Dior ruled the red carpet for us with two of our favourite looks: Nicole Kidman in an unexpectedly whimsical embellished frock and Marion Cotillard in a beautifully draped white gown. Carey Mulligan also made the cut in a chic black and white column dress by Vionnet, as did model Liu Wen, who brought a pop of colour to the red carpet with a navy Roberto Cavalli gown. Rounding out our 5 best dressed was Jessica Chastain in violet Givenchy, a look we couldn’t resist blogging about earlier in the festival and that took top honours in our books.
Who were your best dressed at this year’s Cannes Film Festival?

The Metropolitan Museum of Art Costume Institute held its annual gala last night. The dress code? Punk. And with New York and Hollywood’s boldest names attending, we knew their sartorial choices were going to be a feast for our fashion-obsessed eyes.
From a fabulously punk Sarah Jessica Parker in a printed Giles Deacon design and custom Philip Treacy mohawk headdress to a fabulous but not so punk Jennifer Lawrence in an embellished black Dior gown, the red carpet was quite the scene. Lauren Santo Domingo brought the drama in a Dolce & Gabbana dress with exaggerated sleeves, Emma Watson looked all grown up in a sexy black Prabal Gurung number, and Taylor Tomasi Hill stunned in a printed floral frock with spikes by Thom Browne.
It’s a tie for top honours, though, between a fierce Anja Rubik, who showed up in red leather Anthony Vaccarello, and Rooney Mara, who was a vision in white lace Givenchy (déjà vu?). Who were your favourites on this year’s Met Gala red carpet?
