I am sick yet again and have been cursing this winter weather the past few days. There is nothing, I have been thinking, about winter that I enjoy and I am ready to move on to warm and sunny days already! That is, until I came across these photos of Miroslava Duma in this exquisite Alaia coat (ID’d by the lovely and ever knowledgeable H_Addict on tPF):

If I had a coat like that in my closet, I would never want winter to end, ever. I imagine myself frolicking down the streets of Toronto as beautiful, tiny snowflakes gently fall around me. Because – as you all know – bad weather (snowstorms and the like) do not happen to people in coats such as these; I am sure of it.
As for me, while I do have more coats than one needs, I do not own that particular one, so bad weather does happen to me. Thank goodness for my CL Bottes, in which I have marched all over Toronto and Montreal in very harsh weather conditions indeed. This post, therefore, is a very roundabout tribute to my beloved boots and the wonderful eBay seller who so graciously sold them to me at a steep discount.

Annex: When I saw Miroslava’s coat I was instantly enamored and naturally yearned to fervently yell approving adjectives such as “DIVINE!” and “WEARABLE!” but it was 2 or 3 AM (that is typically when my RSS feed informs me that Garance has posted) so I did it in a very restrained fashion so as not to wake anyone up. Although I think this coat is definitely worth being woken up for in the middle of the night. Also, her shoes are so celestial.
