McQ cardigan / Forever 21 tank top / 3.1 Phillip Lim leather jacket / J Brand cargos / Chloé wedge booties / Make Up For Ever make-up
I’m chained to a desk Monday to Friday, so I’m used to living in dress pants, with some respite on the weekends via my jeans. Over the last 6 months or so, since I ramped up the personal style posts, I’ve become a bit more creative. Still no booty shorts for me, but I’ve happily added patterned leggings, frilly skirts and comfy but chic jumpers to the wardrobe. One of my best discoveries, though, has been these J Brand Houlihan skinny cargos. They’re a great alternative to jeans and leggings, can be dressed up or down, and fit like a glove. Oh, and I got them on fantastic sale from Revolve!
This whole ensemble, in fact, is like a greatest hits album of my shopping triumphs over the last few years. From the leather jacket via Barneys to the studded cardigan via the White Space at the Bay to the wedge boots via Saks, all were purchased on significant sale after much patience on my part. Knowing I got a fantastic deal always makes me enjoy wearing a piece that much more. So there you have it – I’m a self-confessed sale-aholic who shows no signs of imminent recovery! Any other addicts out there?
xx, S

Jealous of all those amazing pieces AND the fact that you scored them on sale!
I love your outfit! You look gorgeous – especially in the last photo!
Thanks Susan! Aww, I’m blushing. Glad you found us here!
Oh i’m definitely a sale-aholic but I’ a cheap-aholic too LOL! I love seeing your outfit posts. More please!
Thank you! I’ll try to do more outfit posts in 2011, but I think the winter might be a bit slow. Too cold out!
Such a great jacket and I love the boots.
SArahD
Major shoe envy right here. I think I remember seeing them and loving them, but obviously couldn’t afford them at full price. So cool that you snagged them on sale! I love a good bargain too…recently, I refuse to buy something unless it IS on sale. And if they don’t offer free shipping? Forget about it! Ha.
I had to be reeeally patient about those wedge boots. They actually sold out online before they even went on sale, but a pair in my size miraculously popped up days before the sale started. Very good luck on that one! I’m with you though – something has to be suuuper fantastic or limited for me to pay full price these days.
MY GAWSH S, you slay me with your hotness. The last picture knocked me DEAD. I’m also loving the natural waves in your hair.. you totally have wind-in-hair effect in their pictures!
You’re right, the cargoes are perfect on you. You have the best-fitting pants ALWAYS.
Thanks so much Chris! It was a bit of a windy day that day, so I have the teeniest bit of the music video wind machine thing going on, despite the fact that I don’t have much hair to work with. Wish it could be a daily occurrence, haha!
I live in J Brands and Paiges. Give them a try!
Tonight I will be dreaming about your cargo pants…on me.
That’s fine. It would be weird if you were going to be dreaming of the pants on ME.
this girl has suchhh amazzzinngg style !
i love her chloe boots and the jacket !
glisters and blisters
LOL, thanks. “This girl” is, in fact, me!
S, another of my fav outfits from you! Looks so cosy and comfortable! I am a sale-holic too and you did good!! I was just wondering…how tall are you?:-)
Thanks Eileen! I’m 5’4″. OK, that’s a lie, LOL – I’m only 5’3.5″. But am more often that not in 4″+ heels.
Loving the leather jacket….fabulous look!
I gotta go check out the White Room at the Bay, like now!
Love your outfit.
