It’s been a year now since the acquisition of my beloved Charlotte Olympia fruit pumps, and they still make my heart go pitter-patter every time I see them. So much so that when I happily took them out for their first outing this year (this winter shoot for Flare.com notwithstanding), I didn’t notice at first that they didn’t quite fit.
It had slipped my mind that when I purchased them last summer, I’d had to buy them a half-size (or was it a full size?) too large; I’d waited patiently until they were finally marked down and by then that was all that was left on the sale rack. Having to throw a pair of insoles or two into the shoes or do that awful toe-clenching walk you do when your shoes are too big seemed a small price to pay for my favourite spring shoes, like, ever.
Do you ever do that – buy wrong-sized shoes because you’d rather have them fit terribly than not have them in your life closet at all? Or is that some next level shoeaholic insanity that maybe I shouldn’t have publicly confessed to?
