Back in October, Opening Ceremony‘s Carol Lim and Humberto Leon and Rodarte‘s Laura and Kate Mulleavy announced that they were collaborating on a capsule collection for Spring. Today, the highly anticipated line hits 40 stores worldwide, including Opening Ceremony boutiques in New York, Los Angeles and Tokyo, all Barneys New York locations, Holt Renfrew in Canada, Podium in Russia, DNA in Saudi Arabia, as well as Opening Ceremony’s online shop.
Inspired by “dusty landscapes”, the collection features womenswear, menswear and women’s accessories, including jewelry, shoes, handbags and hats. Pieces retail from $110 for tattoo leggings to $2,370 for a lace-up leather jacket – a much higher price point than their collection for Target back in 2009, but still significantly more accessible than their ready-to-wear collections.
Given the huge cult following the Rodarte sisters have garnered over the last few years, the collection is expected to sell extremely well. In fact, a second Rodarte x Opening Ceremony collection is already in the works. (via WWD)
