At the end of the summer last year, I reluctantly retired the pair of Zara off-white oxfords that I’d lived in nonstop until they were grey, scuffed all over and featuring a gaping hole. I’ve been on the hunt for replacements ever since, and I finally found a pair this week that’s everything I’ve dreamed of and then some: the Cole Haan ‘Alisa’, a classic oxford with a candy-coloured twist.
Not only does the Alisa come in a range of fun colour combinations, but it’s also light as a feather. The Nike Air soles quite literally knocked my socks off. I pranced around the Cole Haan store in awe, feeling like I was walking on fluffy pink clouds. I exaggerate not. I can’t wait to bring a pair of these magical shoes home to balance out some of the decidedly less comfortable 6″ heeled stilettos in my closet…as soon as I can decide on which colour.
