It seems there was a significant omission in yesterday’s round-up of the best dressed attendees at the 9th Annual CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund gala the night before last – the queen bee herself, Anna Wintour. The editor-in-chief of Vogue stepped out in one of the most incredible trench coats I’ve ever seen (on my laptop screen), a peacock-feathered creation from Burberry Prorsum’s Spring 2013 collection.
This is no standard Burberry trench coat fare. The coat is covered in iridescent peacock plumage, each delicate feather placed by hand and carefully stitched into a stunning pattern of rosettes. It also features a satin collar, epaulets, and a tie belt. In short, it’s utterly divine. Never mind owning it – it will retail for a cool $35,000! – I’d give anything just to see it. Maybe even try it on for a few brief moments. What do you say, Mr. Bailey?
