Outside of my obsession with nautical/equestrian/military-inspired clothing, I’m generally a ruffles and bows kinda gal. Frilly, girly designers like Nanette Lepore, Milly and Rebecca Taylor fill my closet, so one would think that there wouldn’t be room for the decidedly edgier look of Alexander McQueen’s skull scarves. And that was the case until recently when I discovered that Alexander McQueen had produced a scarf that married his skulls with a fascination of mine that I had yet to incorporate into my wardrobe in any fashion – the union jack. I was further reeled in by the rich colour palette and clever inscription “God Save McQueen”. While the scarf is likely long sold out, I had the great fortune of being able to locate one with the help of one lovely Lani (thanks for hooking me up with the scarf and the photos!), so on its way to me is my very first Alexander McQueen skull scarf.
