My day job kept me so busy last week that I was deprived of the pleasure of being excited for haute couture week. I caught tweets here and there about all that I was missing, but didn’t get a chance to catch up until this past weekend. Viewing all the couture collection photos on Style.com back-to-back gave me a different perspective than usual – it was as if the shows ran one after the other in the span of an hour. Being able to directly compare the collections like that made the standouts very clear in my mind.
Unlike the Fall 2010 couture shows, my heart stopped only twice this season. The look on the left is from Armani Privé’s futuristic collection, while the Japanese-inspired look on the right was sent out by Riccardo Tisci for Givenchy. These two looks couldn’t be more different from each other; one is so fierce and sci-fi, while the other is very delicate and serene, but both made my jaw drop. I can’t wait to see if either of these looks makes it on a red carpet in the next few months!
