Toronto Premium Outlets Set to Open Its Doors on August 1, 2013

Mark your calendars, fellow Toronto shopaholics! It’s been over a year since it was announced that Toronto Premium Outlets would be opening in Halton Hills (on Highway 401 at Trafalgar Road) in summer 2013, and now we finally have an official launch date: August 1, 2013. In just a few short months, the first phase of the 500,000-sq. ft. outdoor shopping centre, billed as “the first upscale outlet mall to be developed in Ontario and Canada”, will open its doors with 85 designer and name brand outlet stores on its roster.

John Klein, president of Toronto Premium Outlets, announced the first store last year: Hudson’s Bay’s first “designer outlet prototype in the country.” No word yet on what types of merchandise will be stocked at the Hudson’s Bay Outlet, but we’re already daydreaming about the possibility of prior season overstock from The Room and The White Space.

The rest of the directory has been a very well-kept secret to date. At the groundbreaking ceremony last April, Josh Kaufman, former Vice-President of Development for SmartCentres, said, “It will include the best U.S. and Canadian fashion apparel brands offered and, in some cases, for the first time in Canada.” As of May 23, the store directory of the first phase has now been released. Check it out in all its glory over on the Toronto Premium Outlets website. Highlights include:

  • American Eagle
  • Banana Republic
  • Bose
  • Brooks Brothers
  • Burberry (Dec 2013)
  • Calvin Klein
  • Coach
  • Cole Haan
  • Columbia Sportswear

By the way, many of you have emailed us for information about jobs, and we finally have some to share. A job fair will be held on Thursday, June 6 from 8am to 6pm at the Milton Sports Centre in Milton. Good luck!

For those of you anxious to shop Toronto Premium Outlets as soon as those doors open, here’s the address to enter into your GPS: 13850 Steeles Avenue West, Halton Hills, Ontario L7G 0J1. For hours and other information, head on over to the official website. Happy shopping, and be sure to report back with your finds!

Finally! I’ve been waiting so long for this. Can’t believe it’s opening this August, that’s crazy fast.

  • Drooool for Restoration Hardware! This place is going up close to my parents’ house – dangerously close when I go to visit ;)

Stores somewhat disappointing.. Was hoping for the likes of Saks offprice, Bloomingtons and Neiman Marcus. Am pleased about Kors. Will check it out, but really it not blowing me away.

  • Jill

Was hoping for some better stores like P.S. Aeropostale, things that aren’t available in Canada. Disapointing :(

  • Bobo

Who wants those outlet stores? All these stores are already in Vaughan Mills. I just can’t wait Nordstrom to open at Yorkdale Shopping Centre and Sherway Garden.

  • Laura

I was so hoping to see some home decor stores i.e. Pottery Barn.
    Thanks

I live in Milton, but I shop in Boston & N.J. Was excited about this new Premium Outlet and disappointed to see the listing of stores, few brand names. I Was hoping to see i.e Neiman Marcus, Saks, Nordstrom, Prada, Fendi, BCBG, Dior, Dolce & Gabbana, Armani etc, and more home decor i.e, Pottery Barn, West Elm, Crate & Barrel, Bombay Co. Home Sense…
Hope to see these stores in the next phase and I spend my money in Milton not in States.
    Thanks
    Suri

I think this mall will be great, but it all depends on your taste and how much money you have because just by looking at the names of the stores they seem highly $$$$$ but other than that I am looking forward to shopping at this mall and seeing what other stores they have we will have to see what people think after it opens.

  • Marian

    Please provide the address.

  • plus size

I noticed no store’s for plus size women

  • chander voura

  • bob

too bad the food court is lacking some variety

  • Janet

I hope to see the following stores in near future:
Lululemon, under armor, Uggs, Victoria secret, black and white, Yankee candle, antie Ann (food).

Would love to also see golf store, don’t think other outlet had it… But I thought this would be good idea.
More cosmetic and skin care products such as MAC, L’occitane.

    Thanks.

Was really exited to visit this “Premium Outlet Mall”. Now that I look at the store listings….there is nothing “Premium” about it. Seems like 90% of the stores are common to every mall.

  • Viola

All those malls in Canada don’t have good prices. I have been live in Canada for 13( move from USA)but all my shopping I do in Chicago, New York and Florida.

  • johanna

Am I right in reading the mall is only open Thurs to Sundays?
Passed by yesterday ,Tues , and the parking lot was full???
    thanks.

  • MJ

Well every mall cannot please everyONE person in Canada. We all love to shop and in the US the variety is better but really all malls (open & closed) are the same – usually the same US or Cdn stores, just accessories brand extensions, express stores and the like.

Vaughan Mills is FAR and TPO is closer. That is why they are well spaced! for peoples who cannot gallavant up and down the 401, 403, QEW and 407, each mall provides what the urban study researchers claim is needed. Sure they can be off, but hello? Why do you think it’s so far away? Much more land to open many more stores, they’re only starting with this much, if you check the parent company website with John Klein, they are adding a ton more soon it just depends on sales!

Boxing Day regardless is going to be MADNESS again who doesn’t like to shop at outlets? Your taste may not be others but Halton Hills is for ritzier affluent wallets anyways, so hello get over it already complain and cross the border! Some of these comments are way too dramatic, if you like your lil plaza strip mall go there! If you like big time shopping go Burloak Mall, Vaughan Mills, Dixie Outlet Mall, Sherway Gardens, TPO, Heartland Town Centre, Niagara Premium Outlets and ofcourse Yorkdale and Eaton Centre. From EAST to WEST and NORTH to SOUTH they’ve got you covered! Really, it’s not like RIOCAN is not going to open their own pretty soon! Brantford, Stoney Creek, Waterdown and Burlington has 4 new mega mall plazas opening in like 6 months alone those places are blowing up! Be happy and shop happy! Retail therapy is the best thing for a family find what works for you and your loved ones! That’s why it’s called GOOGLE. ;) wink wink*

  • Melina

Ooops! You forgot Dress Barn! Oh well back to the States….

  • marya

There is Aeropostale in this outlet.. And the first day was really crowded and parking was extremly hard to find. But i really enjoy the rest of the store it has such as adidas, garage, and the food court is lloooking really nice

  • Anja

It was waist of time to go and visit, like they were saying all stores will have same prices as USA. I will be going over the boarder and do my shopping its much better deals.

  • Candy

What are the hours of operation for the outlet mall?

  • Adam

Hope to see Aeropostale, Abercrombie &Fitch, Hollister. And many more that you cant see here in Canada..

  • Curious

Can someone please tell me, how many of the stores are actual “outlet” stores, with bargain prices? Thanks.

  • dave

can you post business hours of the outlet also the direction

  • My daughters and I went to this mall today, a Wednesday and couldn’t believe the parking spots were all filled. The lay out resembles Vaughn mills with an outdoor factor to it. Aside from the great exercise, we didn’t find anything spectacular about this new premium outlet mall. There weren’t any big savings and selection was not as diverse as Tanger outlets in grove city.

  • Leigh-Ann

Now that the mall is open what are the regular hours?

  • rahila

can we use steeles ave west to get there, plz notify soon

  • John Doe

Wow your all weirdos. “I shop in Boston and Ny” like who admits that?? Your just crazy going all the way there to shop. You all need to relax! I’m sure newer stores will be added eventually.
