WWD reports that Tom Ford has finally confirmed that he plans to launch the Tom Ford brand’s first women’s wear collection very soon. My thoughts instantly jump to the genius accessories he designed during his last few seasons at Gucci – namely bags from the Dragon line, the Blondie line, etc. I’m curious as to whether his first collection will include accessories and, if it does, whether the Tom Ford aesthetic will be reminiscent of his glory days at Gucci, or whether his collection will be completely different from that of the established design house he was previously charged with interpreting and revamping. One thing’s for certain – this is a collection years in the making that will have the industry and fashion mavens around the world holding their breaths until they catch their first glimpses of that highly anticipated first collection.
