Earlier this week, I tweeted this from New York City:
“ANNA effing WINTOUR. That’s who we chatted with briefly yesterday at The Met. No word of a lie. Epic!!”
Well, here’s the photographic evidence. I was completely starstruck during our brief encounter, but managed to respond coherently when Anna Wintour, editor-in-chief of Vogue, asked me how I was (just dandy!), whether I’d enjoyed the Savage Beauty exhibition (OMG, yes), and whether I work in fashion (no, I…blog).
Andrew Bolton, the curator of the exhibit was on hand as well, and both were signing copies of Savage Beauty, the Alexander McQueen exhibition catalogue. In fact, that’s T’s copy he’s signing in the photo below.
By the time T and I had gotten through the exhibit and had our books signed, we’d been at The Met for over 7 hours, mostly in line-ups and lacking any food or drink. But it was all worth it!
xx, S

OMG! OMG! OMG! living vicariously through you right now!
I was literally “OMG! OMG! OMG!”-ing the whole time.
Ouuu, such a great opportunity.
Must’ve been amazing!
It was so unexpected!
What the…how did I miss this tweet??? That’s amazing S!!!!!
It was probably my most epic tweet to date!
WOAH literally a moment you will remember forever!! Were her eyes super piercing???? She looks impeccable.
She wore her sunglasses the whole time, haha. But I’m sure her eyes were super piercing behind them!
That is FANTASTIC ! Congratulations, I would be so excited too. I was just thinking, she is likely the only person who can wear sunglasses indoors without being tacky LOL The only person I will accept doing so ! LOL
I love that you congratulated us! And yes, Anna is definitely the only one who can pull off sunglasses indoors.
I will be eternally jealous, I wish I coud’ve been there!
We wish you could have been there too Derek!!!
Most epic tweet indeed! I’d be completely speechless if she asked me how I was!
I bet you’d be way more articulate than I was!
