Since becoming a new mom, getting dressed has become more of a challenge than ever before. There’s little time to think about what I’m throwing on (literally), and when I do have a few seconds to give myself a once-over, the thoughts swirling around in my head are usually along the lines of “I hope baby boy doesn’t spit up on this…it’s dry clean only!” and “Is this sweater going to shed all over the baby?”
Being very familiar now with the sartorial sacrifices mothers often have to make, I am thoroughly blown away by the effortlessly chic ensembles that Stella McCartney dons to take her kids to school. It’s the same old school in every photo, but there’s nothing same old about her outfits at all. Being a designer who often wears her own designs may have something to do with it, but I’m convinced that Stella is just that stylish. Look #1, the double-breasted blazer, striped shirt and high-waisted jeans ensemble, is pure genius. That one’s going up on the mood board for sure.
Stella is consistently dressed like a woman who is successfully balancing her family life and her career, and is going to look fabulous doing it every step of the way. I’m taking notes.
