Admiring from the Backseat: Kate Moss in John Galliano Wedding Dress

After months of speculation, Kate Moss married YSL-clad musician Jamie Hince yesterday in a custom gown by John Galliano, as had been rumoured. While many have expressed disappointment with the supermodel’s ’safe’ choice, I find Moss’ vintage-inspired dress to be refreshing. It may not have the wow factor of a couture show finale dress, but it’s beautiful in its simple silhouette and subtle detailing. Besides, how could I not post photos of a gorgeous bride, grinning from ear to ear, who just so happens to be an international fashion icon?

  • I find the dress quite pretty. It’s a welcome change to see straps on her shoulders. When I was looking for a gown in 2009 for my 2010 wedding, many salons were only able to give me 3 or 4 to try. Some didn’t have strapped gowns at all and suggested that I add them on.

I wore a strapless gown, like most brides these days, so I didn’t have that issue, but I can imagine finding a wedding dress with straps would be quite the challenge! I bet you found something gorgeous. ;)
