I’ve been obsessed with Erdem all season, so when I spied this shot of Alexa Chung in a white lace frock from the Spring 2011 collection, my heart nearly stopped. Model Constance Jablonski looked positively angelic on the runway in the same dress, but Chung’s styling took the lace number to a whole other level.
She belted the lovely dress, topped it off with a fierce Burberry black leather jacket, and threw on some fantastic flats and not one but two designer bags (Chanel and Longchamp, of course) for good measure. I love the contrast of the tough biker jacket against the dainty lace dress; no one mixes feminine and masculine pieces quite like Chung.
In fact, I’m feeling rather inspired. I have a Manoush white lace dress sitting in my closet that has yet to see the light of day. I’m thinking I might just have to give it some airtime this weekend, thanks to Miss Chung.
